At Fresh Start Bakery & Catering we believe we're in touch with our Nation's culinary roots. Embracing the "slow food" adage that we use in our kitchen & our bakery. We make food that is reminiscent of time honored tradition's using only the finest and most natural ingredients like creamery butter, Alberta AAA beef and the only the best flours.
All of our breads & buns are hand shaped & mixed in small batches using a pre-ferment for each dough. A preferment is a fermented dough or batter that is used to provide leavening for a larger batch of dough.
We at Fresh Start Bakery & Catering refuse to compromise by rushing the bake process & insist on a slow methodical fermentation for all of our bread products. Our power bars, muffins, bagels, breads & meals are healthy items we have developed to ensure a balanced lifestyle.
Having worked in the industry over 25 years saw the change in quality & freshness and wanted to do better than what was offered in Supermarket or Franchise bakeries.
In July 2004 while traveling across Canada formed a friendship and bond with several independent business owners who had similar beliefs and values. We continually share ideas & recipes to make our business better.
Our Red Seal Chefs bring over 20 years of experience in the restaurant & hotel industry. They are responsible for all in house items like soups sandwiches, healthy meals to go and all our catering functions. Everything we do at Fresh Start Bakery & Catering is done from scratch & never frozen, to ensure we have the best quality product.
Our staff consists of several certified baker's and cooks that are very passionate about keeping our high standards and no short cuts are taken.
